Horse Rescue Australia is a dedicated non-profit organisation devoted to the rehabilitation and care of horses who've experienced abuse, neglect, or abandonment. Founded in 1986, the charity began when Sally Davies opened her heart and home to two severely malnourished horses, SJ and Gumdrop, whose recovery inspired countless others to help horses in similar situations.
Since its inception, nearly 2,000 horses have been lovingly rehabilitated through specialised care, veterinary support, behavioural training, and ongoing medical treatment. While some horses find new loving homes, others who can't be rehomed enjoy lifelong sanctuary.
